For the most part temperatures and Cancún are warm all year round. With an average of 253 days of sun each year on any given day you can expect tropical weather: sunshine, humidity, and summer temperatures. The hottest time of the year is during North America's summer from around May to August when temperatures soar above 100° F and up to 110° F but are usually only in the upper 80s to lower 90s. The rest of the year you'll find temperatures in the 80s during the day and in the 60s or 70s at night.
For the coolest and most ideal weather go between late November and April when you'll also experience maximum sun and a cool breeze.
Be aware that hurricane season is from June to November. This means not only the chance of hurricanes and tropical storms but the likelihood of downpours every afternoon.

The weather in Cancun applies to most of Quintana Roo, so whether you're going to Isla Mujeres or south along the Riviera Maya the weather should be about the same.
